 I've noticed that for the ads in the program, Nexus uses IE, and i get that obnoxious CLICK sound when a new one loads liek IE does when you browse the net. I've also noticed i've recieved a few sneaky pop up ads, which i shouldn't be getting.

I use Firefox, and would love use it as the used browser for the program to avoid these issues. Is there a registry entry or and an in-program option where i can change this.

I absolutely despise IE.

Also, I know those pop ups can't be any malware I have, cause i never use IE, run virus programs, and multiple scanning progs.

If anyone knows anything about this help would be greatly appreciated.I've been working with computer for a very long time and work in IT, so please don't respond with "It has to be something you missed" cause you're wrong. I know what I'm talking about.

(Either that, or be careful who you sell your ad space for please)

 It's also not the initial splash screen. I have that disabled.

Dude are you kidding? How much music have you listen to or downloaded for free? Stop f..king complaining and just deal with it, or download something else.

 You have nothing better to do, than troll the Nexus forums and flame people with legitimate concerns?

Are you kidding? Get a life.

I have been using Nexus Radio for nearly 3 years and I am a TRUE FAN and SUPPORTER of this service. There is nothing worse than reading garbage from some a.. who just started using the service. No one here cares about your "legitimate concerns" because they are not really concerns. Who the f..k cares about a popup every now and then if we are getting an amazing service for free.

 @reion

I had concerns about this last year, and the author himself pretty much has the same attitude.  I decided to keep NR around to watch it and study it.

So far, it doesn't seem to do anything horrible other than serve up ads.  However, I did get an "ad" recently that looked suspicious - one of these "You could be infected, click here" ads - that refer you to a site that serves up a nice case of Smitfraud and other rogue antivirus.

The answer so far is to police the advertisers better, and the advertisers need to watch their servers better, because most rogue infections come from hacked servers that haven't been patched in forever.
